WOO JUMP HEIGHT.

What the WOO number tells me, what it does not, and why wind, airtime and comparable sessions matter as much as the headline height.

QUICK ANSWER

What does WOO jump height actually tell you?

WOO gives a repeatable way to record jump height and airtime, but the headline number is only the start of the review. The useful comparison is the recorded result against wind opportunity, water state, equipment and similar sessions.

MEASUREMENT

THE NUMBER STARTS THE REVIEW. IT DOESN'T END IT.

WOO gives me a consistent way to record jump height and airtime, but one number is not the whole story of a session.

The useful question is not simply “how high did I go?” It is “what opportunity did I have, what did I convert, and how does that compare with similar rides?”

Speed, rotation, water state, visual reference and how violent or smooth the take-off feels all affect perception. I have had smooth jumps that felt much bigger than the WOO number. Arguing with the sensor does not improve the next session, so I use the mismatch as a question to investigate.

The Session Report combines best height, maximum airtime and, where available, jump count, top-five average and average height with wind, kite, board, prediction and the session lesson.

PERCEPTION

Why a jump can feel higher than the score

Visual reference and smoothness can make perception diverge from the recorded result.

COMPARISON

Prediction versus actual

Store the opportunity before riding, then compare it with the measured result afterwards.
